Haryana State Industry and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) has asked the realty major DLF to complete construction at its project DLF Express Greens, located on a portion of the land affected by the Manesar land scam.
In its letter, HSIIDC’s finance department has said projects being developed by DLF in Manesar are nearing completion, hence the developer could complete the remaining work, without HSIIDC having to bear any cost. As soon as the flats become ready for delivery, they would be handed over to the HSIIDC Manesar estate manager, following which buyers would be given possession after verification. It further states HSIIDC would retain the right to collect balance payments/dues, if any, from respective allottees.
DLF buyers needed to be informed that their homes are being readied. Yet, only some buyers were aware of the development. “We’ve submitted our claim and are hopeful of getting to know the fate of our flats soon. However, there hasn’t been any official confirmation yet,” said Devendra Kaushik, a homebuyer.
Another group of homebuyers said they found out from unofficial channels that some of their claims have been verified by HSIIDC with DLF’s help. “We’ve been told a number of claims have been verified, while others are in process. We’re expecting delivery of our flats within the next 3-4 months,” said Vikram Kataria, another homebuyer.
DLF Express Greens is the only project affected by the land scam which is almost complete. Work on none of the other projects has begun. ABW Aditya Niketan is one such, whose buyers have also submitted their claims, saying they are awaiting verifications.
“We found out HSIIDC has asked the developer to verify claims, which was a positive sign, but there hasn’t been any official communication yet,” said Naresh Jindal.
