Noida homebuyers to organise ‘silent protest’ against delay in project delivery

Homebuyers from various residential projects in Noida have decided to observe a ‘black Christmas’ on Monday in protest against non-delivery of their flats or apartments. More than 500 homebuyers from various projects of Noida are planning to gather at Film City, Sector 16A on Christmas day to stage a silent protest with a black cloth around their mouth.

The homebuyers have, however, not secured a formal permission for this protest from the administration because they see no need for this. “We are not disrupting anything. We will visit all the media houses in and around Film City in Noida,” Rashesh Purohit, a representative of NCR homebuyers’ association said.

“The buyers have been promised action by the state government on many ocassions, but so far nothing has come out of that. Buyers are aggrieved—the year is about to end—and there is no light in sight,” Krishan Mitroo, head of nine associations of buyers of Jaypee Wish Town, said.

It is expected that homebuyers of Jaypee, Unitech, Amrapali, Lotus and several other projects will turn up at the protest site.

“It is a silent protest, so we are going to wear a black cloth around our mouth. There will be no slogans, but our messages would be on display on placards,” Pramod Kumar, a buyer of Jaypee said.
